Drip
Irrigation System
An
American designed and manufactured drip irrigation system. Ideal for
areas where water is scarce and pumping equipment is unavailable.
Called the "bucket system," the basic kit contains a simple
filter and two drip lines 15 meters long.
    Farmers
supply their own bucket and one meter high post. Water flows down
from the bucket through the filter (included) into the lines, and
drips into the soil next to the plants. This system makes the most
efficient use of precious water.
    Just
lay the drip tubes in straight flat lines and connect to filter installed
in the bottom of the bucket. Filling the bucket once in the morning
and once again in the afternoon is usually enough to raise a good
crop of vegetables, or other plants.     The
kit also comes with instructions on how to make raised beds that contain
local materials such as green manure and animal manure to provide
low-level plant nutrition. (other sized systems can be designed.)
